Creating Alerts in Databases
In many of the library's databases you can create a personal search profile which helps you keep up to date and take part of the latest literature and research information in your field.
Your searches are run regularly in the database, and when new documents match your search profile you get a notification by e-mail or RSS. You can also receive alerts with table of contents from new issues of journals you are interested in.
The first step is to create an account in the database you want to get alerts from. Once you have your account, you can start saving searches and activate alerts for them.
The alerts function varies a little between different databases, but you can use the help pages of the database in question to see if the feature is supported and how it is carried out. Look for 'alerts' or the possibility to save searches.
You are welcome to contact the library if you have questions on how to create alerts or if you would like to get tips on how to combine a search string for an alert.
