Search Summon@BTH, the library's new search service

Now you have access to the library's beta version of the search service Summon@BTH. The purpose of this service is to make it easier to find all the material the library offers.
In Summon@BTH you search simultaneously in the library catalogue, and the electronic articles, books, conferences and dissertations that are included in the databases we subscribe to.

Fast and gives overview
Both as a student, teacher and researcher, you benfit from being able to quickly search several sources simultaneously and get an overview. In Summon@BTH there is a joint index for all resources, which makes the search much quicker compared to when searching several sources parallelly.

Big
Firstly you search the material that BTH has access to, whether it is print or electronic. We try to include as much as possible in the search service; books, articles, radio shows, learning objects and many other things. If you want to extend your search, you can choose to also search the central index which contains more than 500 million records. Each record represents an article, a book, a TV program or some other material.

Easy to use
Searching great amounts of material demands a search service where you can easily filter and limit your searches. Summon@BTH has an intuitive and easy to use interface and the result is presented by relevancy.
Based on your search you can also get suggestions for relevant subject databases for further searches.

Flexible
You can of course search Summon@BTH when you are off campus, and there is also a special mobile interface where you can search and download articles directly to your mobile phone.

Searchable full text
When you have access to the full text of an e-book or e-journal, every word is searchable in Summon@BTH. This is a big step forward compared to e.g. ELIN and LibHub where the full text has not been searchable.

Reference export
If you want to save references from your search result, you can put them in a folder with a click, and from that folder you may then print, e-mail or transfer the references to a reference management program.

Help us develop this service - beta testers wanted!

The BTH library is one of the libraries that will take an active part in the development of Summon, together with the developers of the search service. This can for example concern the user interface, technology and contents, e.g. introducing learning objects and Swedish resources etc. into the search service.

We would like to hear your opinion on what it is like to use Summon@BTH.

Contact us at the library if you want to be one of the beta testers.
