The Mobicome project is organised within the EUREKA CELTIC framework which aims at enhancing European competitiveness through its support to businesses, research centres and universities who carry out pan-European projects to develop innovative products, processes and services. The project consists of three European clusters namely Norway, Spain and Sweden and has a duration of 40 months starting from January 2007 to April 2010.
Within the projects scope not only reports and documents will be produced but also prototypes will be designed and implemented to prove the feasibility of the Fixed-Mobile Convergence IMS concepts proposed in the project. The prototypes will be designed in such a way that it is possible to reproduce identical copies in the three countries. The ultimate goal of the project is produce results that can be later on productified and exploited by the Mobicome partners. The project has also an ambitious dissemination goal of at least 20 papers at International conferences and journals. Last but not least, the Mobicome project should demonstrate the feasbility and fuitfulness of a pan-European research collaboration.
