TRAVEL INFORMATION

Easiest is that you come by flight to Copenhagen and from the the Copenhagen airport you take the train directly to Karlskrona, which takes three hours. The railway station is below the airport main lobby, and there you can buy the train ticket as well. Furthermore, the train is every hour, see the time table http://www.blekingetrafiken.se/. Also, the train ticket costs less than 300 Swedish crowns, which is about 30 euros.

By Air

The closest airport is Ronneby/Karlskrona (RNB, c:a 30 km).

SAS offers a number of flights per working day between Stockholm-Arlanda and RNB. An alternative connection is offered by Blekingeflyg between Stockhom-Bromma and RNB. In general, traffic during week-ends and public holidays is limited.

The airport bus Flygbussen connects to the arrivals and costs SEK 85; you can pay by cash or credit card. It stops at Kungsplan (item C on the local map). In the opposite direction, it is scheduled to depart from Kungsplan 73 min ahead of departure of the connecting flight.

The alternative airport with a wide range of international connections is Copenhagen Kastrup (CPH, c:a 250 km), from which there are direct trains to Karlskrona C (see below).

By Train

There are direct train connections between Copenhagen/Kastrup and Karlskrona C (item A on the local map) basically each hour during daytime, see timetable. When you leave customs at CPH, just proceed 100 m to reach the tracks. The vending machines for the tickets are to your right behind SAS' check-in desks. The trip takes 3 h 15 min.

It is recommended to

  • buy tickets before boarding the train, and to consider business/1:st class during rushhours, as the trains can get very full;
  • buy supplies before boarding the train, as there is no restaurant onboard;
  • target the rear part of the train in Kastrup, as the train might get split along the way. Please ask the conductor in case of doubts.

By road/Bridges and FERRIES

You can reach Karlskrona via the Storebelts-Bridge and the Öresunds-Bridge, or there are ferry connections to Germany (typically to Trelleborg, c:a 250 km from Karlskrona) and Poland (Karlskrona-Gdynia).
