My ongoing research project, the dissertation -3 months left
Reading, finalizing, writing, analyzing, try to formulate, formulating, thinking, making diagrams, making illustrations, modelling, try to understand, try to build, what is done, where am I in this, contact with people, all studies are now done...
I am building a model to understand what components are included in a team situation to train in a simulation environment. We can say that the model takes us from individual to group shared cognition. I am especially interested in fast paced decisions. The working title of my dissertation is "comprehension of distant circumstances through technology". The distant circumstances take us to Afghanistan in this case.
My main suprvisor is Rune Gustavsson, professor in Computer Science BTH -Ronneby

Technical Artist -3D programming and 3D modelling
This new 3-year program will start this fall 2010. This is how the home page looks when you

MAD Studio -at CAMPUS KARLSHAMN
Machine Art Design Studio (MAD) is a facility that makes it possible to print your 3D models as
physical objects and also scan your 3D objects in. This kind of creation chain makes the digital
and the physical environements come together. If you start to model your creation in Maya, 3D
Studio Max or Rhino you can then print it out and then continue to add certain features in the
physical model and then scan it in again and use those new features in the digital domain again.
Of course this process also can go the other way around. The model above to the right has
been made by a student at former SOFE in Karlshamn.

SOME OF THE ONGOING ACTIVITIES THIS COMING WEEK, 17-20 March 2010
:AND THERE WAS LIGHT
Charlotte is right now preparing for going to Gothenburg next week where Excellent Exhibitions will present the art of three renaissance artists; Leonardo da Vinci, Rafael and Michelangelo. Together with Tobii, Sweden´s and Internationally the biggest eyetracking company, we will make a study to see how visitors look at the fresco "The Last Supper".
The truth is that we will have a digital version beside the fresco and there visitors can get feedback on how they gazed at the digital version of "The Last Supper" in the form of displayed gaze paths and so-called areas of interest.
My research will consist of tracking several visitors and also asking related questions to see how we may gain insights into gaze patterns and why these may arise. At this stage the tracking is of major interest but later on we may interact with art as we have not done up to this point. This can be very subtle, especially where we also bring in the other senses to be able to shape a different experience.
Here you see Cecilia and Joakim demonstrating one of there systems for eyetracking/steering.
