School of Computing- research

Research at the School of Computing is a major part of the total activity at the school. During 2011 we estimate that around 45 % of the School's operations will comprise research. The School conducts research of a high international standard in the following areas:

  • Computer Science
  • Telecommunication
  • Interaction Design
  • Software Engineering
  • Telecommunication Systems
  • Digital Game Development
  • Computer Systems Engineering
  • Radio Communication

Research conducted at the School of Computing has four main purposes.

  • To generate new knowledge
  • To produce technical doctoral and licentiate degrees
  • To form a strong connection between research and undergraduate education
  • To contribute to the development of industry and society

Research at the School of Computing combines strong academic research with applied research that deals with relevant problems and issues in industry and society. The School is thus an attractive partner in different research and development projects.
