Center of Nordic Excellence in Software Engineering

The purpose with CONES is to further strengthen software engineering research in the Nordic countries, including the Baltic States, through:

Exchange of researchers and teachers.
Provide a forum for researchers to co-apply of funding, mainly through the 7th Framework Program and other EU funding schemes.
Provide courses for PhD students to study in different countries, e.g. through SWELL.

The aim is to have annual nordic software engineering workshops where the above issues can be discussed, planned and, to some extent, executed.

The vision of CONES is that it will be the place for prominent nordic software engineering researchers to meet and collaborate and that CONES will be extended to include more software engineering research groups not only from Finland, Norway and Sweden, but also from the Baltic States, Denmark and Iceland.
