Jaime Delgado

Telecommunication Engineer since 1983. PhD in Telecommunication Engineering, since 1987. Professor at the Technology Department, Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona (Spain), since October 1999. Professor at the Computer Architecture Department, Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC), November 1987 - September 1999. European Projects Manager for Logic Control, S.A. (1995 2000). Director of Media Technology Group, S.L., since 1998. Project manager of the ACTS project MULTIMEDIATOR, "Multimedia publishing brokerage service" (1995-1998). Leader of the Cluster of ACTS projects on Applications and Security. Participant in several ESPRIT projects as project leader of the UPC team. Currently leading the work of the UPC and Logic Control in the ACTS projects TRADE and HYPERMEDIA, and the work of the UPF in several research projects. Active participation in standardisation as editor of several standards and chairman of groups in ISO/IEC JTC1/SC18, EWOS Multimedia, ETSI, ITU-T SG8 and CEN/ISSS. Evaluator and reviewer for the European Commission in the IST Multimedia Content and Tools Key Action, the Telematics Information Engineering area, and for ESPRIT Multimedia. Author of dozens of papers and member of many Conference International Programme Committees.
