Applied health technology
Applied Health Technology is an interdisciplinary science involving many skills and includes studies of how health may be related directly or indirectly to the implementation and impact of technology.

In this field researchers try to find new technologies and methods to extract information from different types of signals. The research is also about how methods may be used in industry.
Business administration and economics
The research in this field is focused on innovation processes in information economies. The research takes advantage of the universitys focus on information- and communication engineering.
The research in this field is profiled towards the care of elderly, in particular cross-cultural care of the elderly and care of people with dementia.
Computer science at BTH has a focus on open distributed systems, in particular agent technology.
Computer systems engineering
Computer systems engineering has a focus on multiprocessors and real-time systems.
Digital Game Development
GSIL specializes in the ongoing development of theory, methods and practice in the design and development of game systems, interactive simulation and visualisation systems, digital fabrication, robotics and interaction concepts and technologies.
