Application Process - Bachelor studies

General application requirements

In order to apply for a Bachelor programme at BTH you should have completed your high school education and prove your proficiency in the English language.

Below we have listed all documents that you have to submit with your application in order to prove that you have fulfilled general requirements. (Please read information under headline "In your application, you must enclose the following documents" further down on this page.)

Specific application requirements

Before you make your online application, you should make sure that you fulfill the specific requirements stated for the programme you are interested in. Please read the description of the programme you are interested in, to make sure you fulfill specific application requirements. We also recommend that you read FAQ before applying!

In order to apply for bachelor studies at BTH, you have to make an online application on

The online application form, for programmes starting autumn term, opens 1 December and closes 17 January. All supporting documents have to be sent before the deadline, 28 January 2012 to:

You have to submit only one application per term and cycle (education level). Once your application has been registered, you will get a confirmation e-mail. You should never submit more than one set of supporting documents.

Your application will be registered and checked in several steps, by different institutions. During the process you will get an e-mail reminder to check your status on Universityadmissions.se

N.B. In some cases, the final assessment will not be made until the very last week before selection.

Once the selection results have been published, you will get an e-mail reminder to check the results on "My pages" at Universityadmissions.se.

When the evaluation process is finished, a notification of your selection results will be accessible online as well as in a printable PDF-file.

In your application, you must enclose the following documents:

  1. Documents showing that you have successfully completed upper secondary education. All documents have to be certified copies of any certificate issued and the transcript of subjects taken and grades awarded. N.B. Only final and officially issued documents are valid.

  2. Unless these documents are in English, French, German or one of the Nordic languages, you must submit one copy in the original language and authorized translations of the documents into Swedish or English.  

    All your documents have to be certified by Notary Public or a representative of the Ministry of Education. The certification must be easily deduced to a well-known authority in your home country. Stamps such as "confidential" or "certified copy" will not be accepted.

    N.B. Applicants with Pakistani documents must have upper secondary documents certified by Inter Board of Committee of Chairman (IBCC) and academic documents certified by the Higher Education Comission Pakistan (HEC).  

    N.B. Students from Nigeria and Ghana have to send Waec/Neco scratch card information for online verification.

  3. A proof of your proficiency in the English language. If your secondary school qualification in English is not considered to fulfill this requirement, you must submit the official results from an internationally recognized test such as TOEFL or IELTS. The TOEFL result is only accepted if forwarded directly from Educational Testing Service (ETS) to University Studies in Sweden. The institution code is Sweden 9520. No TOEFL copies are accepted!

  4. A proof of your identity, a copy of the page in your passport with your personal data and photograph, or some other identification document.

Deadlines

The online application form, for programmes starting autumn term, opens 1 December and closes 15 January. Last date for accepting supporting documents is 1 February, i.e. the documents must have reached University Studies in Sweden by this date.
