Applying for student VISA

Make sure you apply for visa as early as possible after receiving your admission letter. The application form can be down-loaded from www.migrationsverket.se
Questions regarding your VISA application etc can only be answered by the Migration Board or the Embassy where you submitted your application. Do note that International Office has no power to effect the Migration Board's work.
In order to get your VISA approved one of the conditions that the student has to forfill is: "You must be able to show that you have enough money to support yourself throughout the planned study period. Proof that you can support yourself must be provided, e g in the form of some kind of documentation certifying your own or your sponsor’s bank assets, a letter of guarantee from your sponsor, or documentation certifying that you have received either a scholarship or student benefit from your country of origin/domicile. You are required to show that you will have SEK 6,300/month at your disposal for 10 months/year." Do note that 6300 is not a random amount that the Migration Board has come up with. That is the amount you have to have every month to survive. It is expensive to live in Sweden!

For further instructions regarding the requirements read the instructions carefully at the Migration Board's home page.

Waiting for your VISA?

Dear Students,
I know that some of you not yet have received your VISAs, but please note, that I can not speed up the process at the Migration Board. They handle every application in the order they reach their office. Be patient!
