| Abstract: | The mean field annealing (MFA) algorithm is presented as an efficient tool to design digital filters with discrete coefficients and hardware constraints. As an application example the algorithm is used to design a finite wordlength digital filter with a simple hardware constraint. The ability of the deterministic MFA algorithm to approximate the mean behavior of the stochastic simulated annealing algorithm is indicated by numerical results. |
