Abstract: This paper describes how Mathcad is used to deepen understanding of fundamental aspects in the field of rotor and structural dynamics in two of the undergraduate courses in the education programme of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on Product Development at the University of Karlskrona/Ronneby, Karlskrona, Sweden. Integrating this mathematical software has clearly given an improved interest for mathematics as well as mechanics among the students.
