Our question is if the same kind of GUI (graphical user interface) function, implemented in a different GUI will give the user different experiences of satisfaction? The purpose of our investigation is to increase the insight and understanding of the user experience of the graphical user interface function in an LMS (learning management system). With insight on the user experience of GUI functions, both the purchaser and designer of LMS work towards and strengthen the experience and satisfaction of the user. We have studied theories and conducted quantitative surveys that have been the foundation for our qualitative interviews. We came to the conclusion that the same type of GUI functions, implemented in different GUI gave the user different experiences of satisfaction. In the areas of navigation and handling of documents in an LMS, what affected the users satisfaction, in a negative way, was inconsistency in the navigation sytem and the complicated process in handeling documents. Our belief is that the user's own knowledge in the LMS, as well as the students and the teachers knowledge in the LMS, is relative and affects the level of satisfaction the user feels.
