I have studied how the notion of the "outer" is threat in Bram Stoker's Dracula. "The outer" is a rather vague term, but can be clarified as one of the parts in a number of dual oppositions. For exmple foreign-domestic or outside-inside (spatial). Dracula has all the characteristics of "the outer" and is therefore a threat. In the essay I examine these characteristics and connect them with the thesis of "the outern" being a threat.
