Abstract: BitTorrent, a replicating Peer-to-Peer (P2P) file sharing system, has become extremely popular over the last years. According to Cachelogic, the BitTorrent traffic volume has increased from 26% to 52% of the total P2P traffic volume during the first half of 2004.
This paper reports on new results obtained on modelling and analysis of BitTorrent traffic collected at Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH) as well as a local Internet Service Provider (ISP). In particular, we report on new request models for a BitTorrent peer during downloading.
