| Abstract: | This report presents an evaluation of the local development work in the housing area Araby in Växjö. Araby is a large-scale housing area with about 4900 inhabitants (1995). The municipal government of Växjö decided in 1996 to begin a local development work in Araby. The evaluation aims to describe the local development work regarding: 1. How the interplay between local, municipality and housing company actors has worked 2. How local initiatives to development has been supported by municipal physical planning 3. How the collabotation within the municipality and between the municipality officials and other actors has worked 4. How civil ascendancy has come to expression and 5. How new forms of physical planning has been used. |
| Summary in Swedish: | I denna rapport redovisas en utvärdering av lokalt utvecklingsarbete i bostadsområdet Araby i Växjö. Araby är ett storskaligt bostadsområde med ca 4900 invånare (1995). Växjö kommun beslutade 1996 att påbörja ett lokalt utvecklingsarbete i Araby. Utvärderingen syftar till att det lokala utvecklingsarbetet med avseende på: 1. Hur samspelet mellan lokala och kommunala aktörer har sett ut 2. Hur lokala initativ till utveckling har fått stöd av kommunal planering 3. Hur samverkan inom kommunen och mellan kommunen och andra aktörer har fungerat 4. Hur medborgarinflytande har kommit till uttryck och 5. Hur nya former för planering har använts. |
