| Abstract: | This paper describes an automated approach to modal testing utilizing a robot control to position a Laser Doppler Vibrometer (LVD) [1]. A programmed robotic system was used for the laser positioning. This kept the measurement set correctly identified with respect to the specimen geometry. The communication between the measurement program and the robot, the identification of the candidate robot system, and the mechanical design of the robot-vibrometer interface is described. For verification a sample measurement was performed and results are briefly presented. |
