Abstract: This presentation was intended as a basic introduction to the simple, pedagogical applications for:
1. the reading & writing of hypertext (WWW & HTML)
2. the use of synchronous & asynchronous conferencing technologies (IRC & E-Mail)
3. English language drill software

Topics included: different methodologies, the kinds and amount of preperation involved for the teacher and students, the dangers of over-use and misuse, and finally the potential benefits for both student and teacher.

The target audience was teachers at gymnasium level.
