Midlife adults, Myocardial Infarction and the experience of life for next of kins and patients.
Overall aim of the thesis
The overall aim of the thesis is to explore and clarify young people's experiences of having survived an acute myocardial infarction as well as their and their relatives experiences of social support. The study also aims to explore nurses' experiences of social support in relation to the care of the patient.

Professional background/interests
I started working as a nurse in 2003, on a cardiac care unit in southern Sweden. My professional experience is primarily within cardiac care. I have worked with acute heart disease patients in cardiac intensive care and post care service. I have also worked with cardiac rehabilitation. In 2007 I took a master's degree in Health Sciences at Växjö University. In 2010, I began my doctoral studies in Health Sciences at the School of Health Science, Blekinge Institute of Technology. I am part of the research group 'Care of the Elderly, Long Term Diseases and Palliative Care' at the University of Lund; I also participate in their doctoral seminars.

The project "Social support and health related quality of life before and after use of internet support" scholarship of 35 000 SEK
The project "Sjuksköterskans sociala stöd till yngre personer som överlevt en hjärtinfarkt och deras närstående" was granted 100.000 kr by Blekinge Research Council, Blekinge County Council.
The project "Närstående till yngre personer som överlevt en hjärtinfarkt - deras erfarenheter och behov av stöd" was granted 270 000 SEK by Blekinge Research Council, Blekinge County Council.
The project "Yngre personers upplevelser efter att ha upplevt en akut hjärtinfarkt samt deras upplevelse av socialt stöd" was granted 100 000 SEK by Blekinge Research Council, Blekinge County Council.
The study which aims to highlight younger people's experiences after having survived an acute myocardial infarction and their perceptions of social support from a nursing perspective, was granted a scholarship of 10,000 SEK from the Swedish Society of Nursing.
