Public Health Science is a multidisciplinary field that includes knowledge from several traditional areas of science and which in different respects studies the ways in which habits of life, the environment, the social structure and the health system influence population health. The research in this area contributes with knowledge of population health, the determinants of health and health promotion.
The research in Public Health Science is mainly based in the two Research environments developed at the School, i.e. research in Sustainable Active Ageing and Health & Technology. The Research environments incorporate research in the School's four research fields, Caring Science, Public Health Science, Medicine and Applied Health Technology. The majority of the School's research can be found in the two Research environments, while some research is still conducted under the domain of their research fields.
