Professional background/interests
As a nurse I have been working with children and adolescents for 25 years. My parents had for many years, all through my childhood, a nursing home for mentally retarded persons. When I found out how little research had been done on the situation for children living with parents with mental retardation, I realised that this was a gap I could contribute to filling.
