Titel: Wellbeing in Old Age - Life history evaluations, sense of coherence and social networks in relation to health.
Current position
Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor
Current Research Field
Mainly within the project SNAC-Blekinge, which is a substudy of the national SNAC project (Swedish Natonal Study on Aging and Care, http://www.snac.org). The project is longitudinal, and multidisciplinary. The aim is to study both health as well as illness and health needs among the country's aging population in order to better understand the mechanisms behind both aging well and the emergence of health and social care needs.
In the ongoing research the projects data set is being analyzed. The research focuses on aging and has a strong emphasis on public health science. One of the published studies deals with the importance of leisure habits for the capacity to work at the age 60. Other recent studies deals among other things on the importance of physical activity levels for the quality of life and as protective factor against depression and on what role social and psychological factors play in the degree of care dependency.
Title Project/Research Area
Survival Analyses designed to examine the extent to which social and psychological variables (personality, cognition, quality of life, social networking features and structures, marital status, education, economy) can explain variation in life span.
