Title of thesis work

The most ill elderly in Blekinge, in-depth understanding from a patient perspective

Overall aim of the thesis

The overall aim is to, from a patient perspective, obtain a deeper understanding of how the daily life is shaped for the most ill elderly with a special focus on contacts with health care during the past year, as well as social relations, perceived health, experiences of independence, participation and identity.

Professional beackground/Interests

I recieved my degree as a nurse in 1980 and began working in the surgical and orthopedic clinics. Most of my professional career as a nurse was spent working in a somatic emergency clinic where I was employed in 1986. I have furthered my training in both medical and surgical care as well as emergency care. For years I alternated between working as a nurse and a nursing instructor. I completed my nursing instructor degree in1992.
In recent years I have worked at Blekinge Institute of Technology, School of Health Science as a junior lecturer in the nursing program.
I received my master's degree in Nursing Science in 2007 and January 1st 2011 I was accepted as a doctoral student at Lund University, Department of Health Sciences
