Doctoral hat

A doctoral hat is a solid piece of craftsmanship and is manufactured by Hattmakeriet in Malmö. The insignia, which is the oak in the BTH logotype, is silver-plated and is manufactured by goldsmith Sonny Carlberg in Sölvesborg.

If you wish to buy your doctoral hat you must know your hat size. This can be measured at Hattmakeriet, although hat size can also be measured at NK in Stockholm, Ströms in Gothenburg and Karlssons högtidskläder in Umeå. Remember that you need to make an appointment with Hattmakeriet to measure your hat size!

The price of a doctoral hat in 2009 was about SEK 5,500 including VAT.

If you do not wish to buy a hat, there are a limited number available for loan. Please contact us if you wish to borrow a hat. You must know your hat size. Hats are available in size 56 to 61.
