BTH attends Education Fair in Hungary
On January 18-19, BTH participated in the EDUCATIO International Trade Fair for Education in Budapest, Hungary. This fair has been organized each year since 2000 and is the most important and most significant annual meeting about Hungarian education. It is organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Hungary and it gathers more than 130 institutions of Higher Education; about 20 of them representing international programmes. There were about 30,000 students attending the fair looking for information about bachelor's and master's programmes. Jan-Olof Gustavssson, Dean of the School of Engineering, Maria Engelmark, head of the international office, Edna Aguinaga, project assistant and Csaba Jakab, alumnus from BTH attended the fair.
There is a growing interest from Eastern European countries to take part in studies abroad and Sweden is a great option for them. BTH as well as the other universities in Sweden, has a major advantage over the rest of the international programmes as education is free and students, especially parents, were really receptive to that information. BTH is also one of the few that offers a wide range of IT master's programmes and its unique programme on Leadership towards Sustainability is also very attractive for students.
The fair was a great success, and we hope to get a good number of Hungarian students applying for BTH programmes this year and in subsequent years. BTH will also be participating at an Education Fair in Istanbul, Turkey in mid February and one more in Poznan, Poland at the end of February. We look forward to them!
