Executive Education (Exec.Ed) is leading to further development of skills for executives, business leaders and functional managers in industry and academia. Focus can be both on acquire skills from other disciplines or to deepen skills in areas where recent developments occurred.

The goal of the education is to gain knowledge about product innovation theories and practice to achieve disruptive, or radical, innovation. Together with the theory, a product innovation project is carried out with the goal of going from needs to prototype with commercialization potential. This requires a setup with at least 5 participants and preferably from one company to avoid IPR conflicts in the developments. The participants will then in parallel with building theory also practice the process of going from Needfinding to commercialisation, via stages like user studies, design studies, creative workshops, concept design, detail design, prototyping, plant setup, market plans etc.
SIMULATION DRIVEN DESIGN IN PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Modelling and simulation is today a natural part of industrial product development. This course will give a basic introduction from the history of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) to the actual work of how to model and simulate in order to drive product development, arriving at a more simulation driven design. Theory will be mixed with exercises in a high tempo style with many iterations between action and reflection during the lectures. The participant will after the course have a basic understanding of how modelling and simulation can be used to support the product development process together with knowledge on recent developments in the area.
PRODUCT-SERVICE SYSTEMS FOR VALUE CREATION
Product-Service System (PSS) is an integrated combination of products and services. This concept embraces a service-led competitive strategy, environmental sustainability, and the basis to differentiate from competitors who simply offer lower priced products, moving into more value-based product offerings.The course aims to give an overview of the current literature within the field and the practical ability to adopt and implement parts of the containing methodologies in a case study approach in order to create higher value output.
