Who can enter the competition?
EASA 2004 is open for students, graduates, lecturers and scientists - as individuals and in teams. Joint projects with commercial organisations can partake as well, if the project originated in an institute of higher education or research. "The project can be aimed at undergraduate students, graduates and further academic education."

What is required of the submissions?
We welcome the submission of computer software designed for education and research in all academic disciplines. Programs can be tutorials, simulations or tools and should demonstrate innovative use of ICT within higher education or research, whether it be in the form of new software or the novel use of existing ICT-facilities. Software can use any generally accepted operating system and should be designed for workstations or personal computers.

How do I enter?
To enter the competition, fill in the entry form (in English) between October 20 and December 23, 2003. At this stage, we need a general description of your submission. After the deadline entries will be judged on general terms. Successful entries then go on to the next stage, where developers have to provide a running demo and a more detailed description of their submission. The deadline for this is March 1, 2004. A jury of experts from each discipline will judge the entries by June, 2004, and make the selections for the final ceremony in Switzerland, September 25-27, 2004. An expert jury of international scientists will evaluate the finalists’ submissions and select the winners of the prestigious European Academic Software Awards. All final entries and winners will be showcased here on the EASA web site with product descriptions and examples.

Timeline & finals info will provide more about the logistics of the competition and the final ceremony in Switzerland in September 2004.
