Stratleade contributes to a healthier planet by promoting global public education on Strategic Sustainable Development. Donations support outstanding, deserving students in earning advanced education, making them effective leaders in creating a sustainable society. StratLeade's current focus is providing grants for students attending the Master's in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability program at the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Karlskrona, Sweden.
Over 2,300 non-profits worldwide are included in the 1% network, and over $70 million has been funneled to its nonprofit partners to date. "The intent of 1% for the Planet is to help fund these diverse environmental organizations so that collectively they can be a more powerful force in solving the worlds problems," Yvon Chouinard, founder of 1% for the Planet.
"Two individuals who inspire our work, Karl-Henrik Robèrt and Göran Broman often point out that the question of reaching sustainability is not about if we will have the money or the technology to do it - those we have; the question is, will there be enough leaders in time?" said StratLeade Board member and volunteer, Georges Dyer, "StratLeade works to ensure we'll have enough leaders in time, who are capable of tackling the complex and inter-related sustainability challenges and implement effective solutions."
