Wireless networks ET1312 (ETC019)
The purpose with this course is to give a good insight into the impact wireless communication and the users mobility has on the design and management of a telecommunication och data communication network, as well as giving an overview of current technologies. Both the transmission part and the networking part of the communication systems will be addressed.
Short introduction to transmission and networks.
Antennas, multipath propagation, frequency hopping.
Overview of current systems for cellular networks, wireless LANs, mobile IP, Ad Hoc networks, the Bluetooth technology, the IEEE802.11 standard.
Diversity, handover strategies, link budget calculations.
