workshop on public participation in and sustainability of public e-services
On Febuary 7th 2006, the Informatics Collaboratory of the Social Sciences at Sheffield University, UK, hosted a workshop within the framework of the project Public participation and sustainability in complex e-enabled portal services. Blekinge Insitute of Technology and the municipality of Ronneby are partners in this project, and Annelie Ekelin and Sara Eriksén from IAW attended the workshop.
This project is funded by the Knowledge Transfer Opportunities Fund at Sheffield University. In the project, the cases of London Connects (UK), South Yorkshire easyconnects (UK) and Ronneby Digital City (Sweden) are studied and compared. The workshop was kept informal and gave an excellant opportunity to exchange experiences as well as ideas about possible future research and development cooperation, where there is mutual interest of moving ahead to some form of European R&D project in future around public participation in and sustainability of public services.
