23-24/4 2007: Annelie Ekelin and Sara Eriksén were invited to speak about eParticipation at a symposium which the Council of Europe organised at the Palais de l'Europe in Strasbourg 23 to 24 April 2007. The event was organised in co-operation between the Council of Europe Ad Hoc Committee on E-democracy (CAHDE) and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.


26/6 2006: Sara Eriksén was invited to speak about e-government research in the Blekinge region at the eGOVERNET workshop Needs for eGovernment research management - regional aspect, which was held in Cracow, Poland, on June 26th 2006.  Cracow June 26th

10-11/5 2006: The D-Ring Meets Again - this time in Ronneby! The D-Ring - Doktorsringen - is a network of researchers in informatics from eight different universities in Sweden who have the ambition to develop a supportive infrastructure for long-term cooperation in research and education. The D-Ring met in Ronneby on May 10th - 11th 2006. So far, this cooperation has resulted in a joint distance course for Ph D students, Fundamental issues in IS Research, which has run during the spring of 2006. During the autumn of 2006, we will be cooperating around another Ph D course, Design Theory and Design Research. A concrete result of the Ronneby meeting was that we applied for funding for the D-Ring network from the new Swedish Agency for Networks and Cooperation in Higher Education, NSHU. 

April 2006: Professor Sara Eriksén was employed as guest professor of Work Integrated Learning at the department of Economy and Informatics at University West, Uddevalla, Sweden. The guest professorship, which equals 20% of full time, opens up new possibilities for networking and cooperation between Blekinge Institute of Technology and University West.  WANTED IN THE WEST

April 2006: The Danish Ministry of Education has appointed Sara Eriksén as a member of the Danish National Corps of External Examiners in Mechanical Engineering for the next four-year period (April 2006 - March 2010). The appointment is a result of Sara Eriksén's guest professorship at and cooperation with the Mads Clausen Institute (MCI) at the University of Southern Denmark in Sönderborg in the context of the international Master's program in IT Product Design.

24-28/4 2006: Together with two other representatives from Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sara Eriksén visited the Basque Country, Spain, for peer reviewing of two IST projects within the framework of the IANIS+ network. This was the first peer review visit of its kind. Representatives of the Kouvola Region in Finland also participated, reviewing two other projects at the same time. The visit will result in peer review reports and - hopefully - in future research and development cooperation between the involved regions.

24/4 2006: The Swedish Agency for Innovation Systems has initiated and is sponsoring a national research network within the eGovernment area. The network held it's first meeting in Linköping on April 24th, chaired by Karin Axelsson and Göran Goldkuhl from the VITS research network, Linköping University. 27/2 2006: Mette Mark Larsen and Ben Mattews from the IT Product Design program at Mads Clausen Institute, MCI, at the Southerna Denmark University in Sönderborg, visited AIS and gavea guest lecture within the framework of the Human Work Science seminar series. MCI Resident teachers

24-26/2 2006: The second SIDER conference was held at the IT University in Gothenburg, Sweden. IAW attended the conference, which offered the opportunity to network and also to get an overview of higher education in Scandinavia in interaction design. In 2007 Blekinge Institute of Technology together with Växjö University and the university of Kalmar will be hosting the SIDER conference. 14-15/2 2006: Sara Eriksén, IAW, who represents the Blekinge region in the IANIS+  (Innovative Actions Network for the Information Society) e-government workgroup, attended the kick-off meeting and workshop in Brussels. IANIS+

16/1 2006: Sara Eriksén was an invited speaker and panelist at the EQUAL NTG-lär conference "Att ge unga luft under vingarna" /Giving young people the courage to soar (rough translation) / a conference on technology, learning and motivation, at the Kallinge School, Ronneby. NTG-lär conference

9/1 2006: Wendy Gunn from MCI, Southern Denmark University in Sönderborg, Denmark, gave a guest lecture about perception, creativity and skill at the department of Interaction and System design in Ronneby, within the framework of the Human Work Science seminars on Monday afternoons. MCI Resident teachers
