Fracture Mechanics of Packaging Material

A co-operation project between Tetra Pak and Blekinge Institute of Technology, Malmö University and Luleå Institute of Technology.

Goals: 

  • Investigate the fracture behavior of each layer (including Al-foil) in packaging material.
  • Investigate the fracture mechanical behavior of laminated packaging material.
  • Formulate a FEM simulation model for analysis of crack behavior in TBA material.
  • Validation of the model through experimental studies of laminate structures with different material and adhesive properties.
