Quality of Experience for future TV
Speaker: Dr Kjell Brunnström, Acreo AB, Kista, Sweden
The way TV is provided to the user is changing very rapidly. This presentation will give a status update and outlook about some trends in TV delivery. In this change new quality issues emerge. Quality of Experience is not a well defined term, but could loosely be said to subjectively and objectively quantify the user experience of a service. The presentation will give some examples when this is applied to some aspects of TV, e.g. HDTV, zapping time and motion blur.
Kjell Brunnström (Ph.D. in Computer Vision from KTH) is an expert in video and display quality assessment with several years of experience in the area. He is a Co-chair of the Joint Effort Group as well as the Independent Lab group of the Video Quality Experts Group (VQEG). Recently his research interests have been in video quality measurements in IP-networks and display quality related to the TCO-requirements.
