DISTINGUISHED VISITING SCHOLAR PROGRAM
In 2005 a Distinguished Visiting Scholar Program at the intersection of the humanities and ICT (information and communication technologies) was established through grants from the Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation (RJ), The Swedish Agency for Innovation Systems (VINNOVA), and BTH.
The Distinguished Visiting Scholars, experts recruited from around the world, are to act as catalysts for research and education in the converging fields of the humanities (in particularly literature and visual culture) and digital media. The School expects to host scholars three times a year, each one spending up to four weeks on campus. They will provide research leadership, vision, and inspiration to a group of BTHs academics with similar or complementary research interests. The visit might entail collaborative research, advice and/or seminars and public lectures, as well as informal interaction with staff and research students.
The first scholar appointed to hold the chair in May 2005 is professor Jay David Bolter, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, and honorary doctor at BTH.
