Mathematics and statistics
Research at the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at BTH are both applied and cross-border, where development is driven by both scientific theory and industrially applied problems. Advanced sustainable products and services developed in various research projects are often based on mathematical model based innovations.
The department's research supports companies at a top level, while the mathematical core business is strengthened by the integration of mathematics and modeling in other fields (interdisciplinary ventures). Today the department has cutting edge competencies in several areas such as in mathematical modeling. Within the scope of the department's research activities physics, chemistry and didactics of mathematics are also represented.
