Modern software systems need to implement security, privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements concurrently. Effective implementation of these converging non-functional requirements demands a unified view of them.
This course will equip different software engineering roles with an overview of security, privacy, and compliance as three essential non-functional requirements. The goal of the course is to provide a systematic understanding of each of the concepts to enable students to effectively distinguish between them and implement them concurrently in practice. The course contains a theoretical part enabling a high-level understanding of concepts and a practical part focused on the application of knowledge for threat modeling.
