GDPR Personal Data

If other people appear in your work, you must first obtain consent for publication from them. Follow the instructions for handling personal data via the link below.

Accessibility and Archival

Preservation The Swedish Law on Accessibility to Digital Public Services (SFS 2018:1937) has been in force since 2019. It means, among other things, that PDFs should be readable with the help of electronic reading tools.

In Word, you can run an accessibility check while you work: Use Review -> Check Accessibility

Save archive-securely – save as PDF/A

According to the law, public documents of government agencies must be archive-secure. To preserve digital documents indefinitely, the ISO standard PDF/A is used.

File size limitations

Limitations in DiVA: files larger than 1 GB must be uploaded via URL (max 16 GB per file). The file and the folder it is placed in must be publicly available.

Public document

When the student’s degree project has been submitted for examination, it becomes a public document and is covered by the principle of public access to official records.

Confidentiality

In exceptional cases, if a thesis contains confidential information, it can be subject to confidentiality.

Advisory Ethical Review

You can contact the Ethical Advisory Board in South East Sweden if you want an advisory ethical review of your planned thesis or have questions about ethics in student projects.

Publish in DiVA

At BTH we use DiVA as an institutional repository for theses. As a student, you must register and publish your degree project in DiVA yourself.

If you are a student and have trouble logging into DiVA, try these options:
