Big data – important field for researchers and the industry
BTH conducts highly interesting research in the big data area which is of great importance for society. Today, researchers and the industry meet at BTH to discuss progress and future challenges.
The research in big data, which is fully in line with BTH’s profile, focuses on creating resource-efficient systems for the analysis of large amounts of data. The research has a strong connection with the business community and is conducted in cooperation with several companies, such as Ericsson, Telenor and Sony Mobile Communications.
On 6-7 September, it is time for the big data research group to arrange its annual workshop where academia and industry meet to review the progress made in research and to discuss together future challenges in the area. The key note speaker at the workshop is Jim Rasmusson from Sony Mobile Communications.
– This is an important project for BTH, and it is nice to, for the third year, gather all partners from academia and industry to discuss and report the progress made so far in the project, and how we look at the future. I look forward to two days of rewarding exchanges and discussions, says Professor Håkan Grahn, project manager for the big data group at BTH.
