Decision-Making Forum
Blekinge Institute of Technology has several decision-making bodies that govern operations and ensure the quality of education and research. These bodies, including the Board of Governors, the Recruitment Committee, the Disciplinary Board and the Staff Disciplinary Board, play a central role in managing and developing the university.

Board of Governors
The Board is the university's highest decision-making body. The Board has oversight of all BTH's affairs and is responsible for the fulfillment of its duties.
The Board consists of the Vice-Chancellor, eight representatives of public interests appointed by the Government, one of whom is the Chairman of the Board. Three representatives from the business community and three representatives of the students.
Recruitment Committee
The Recruitment Committee plays a central role in ensuring high quality in faculty appointments and promotions. Through a broad collaboration between HR, the deputy vice-chancellor, deans, teachers and student representatives, the committee prepares and decides on matters related to appointments, promotions and peer review of academic staff. The committee is also responsible for appointing honorary doctorates, thereby contributing to the academic development of the university.
Disciplinary Board
Each university must have a disciplinary board that handles cases of disciplinary measures against students, according to the Higher Education Ordinance (1993:100).
At BTH, the disciplinary board consists of:
- The Vice-Chancellor, who is the chairman
- A lawyer who is or has been a judge
- A representative of the university's teachers
- Two student representatives
The board works to ensure that disciplinary cases are handled in a legally secure and transparent manner.
Staff Disciplinary Board
The composition and tasks of the Staff Disciplinary Board are regulated in the Government Ordinance.
At BTH, the board consists of the Vice-Chancellor as chairman, two members who must hold permanent employment at BTH and a staff representative for each of OFR and SACO.
