The Climate Framework
Blekinge Institute of Technology, BTH, has joined the Climate Framework together with several other Swedish universities and colleges.
Through this initiative, BTH is actively contributing to accelerating the climate transition and supporting society's national and international commitments to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees. The goal is to have implemented measures in line with this goal by 2030.

BTH's climate commitments
By joining the Climate Framework, BTH commits to:
- Contribute to society's climate transition
Through education, research and collaboration, BTH works to enable sustainable development. - Reduce its own climate impact
Adapt operations to national and international climate goals. - Set and follow up ambitious goals
Establish clear goals for climate work, allocate resources and follow up the results. - Communicate and inspire
Disseminate knowledge about climate work to inspire other actors and citizens.
Key areas for climate work
BTH focuses on both direct and indirect climate impact in the following key areas:
- Direct impact:
Business travel, energy use and waste management. - Indirect impact:
Education, research, collaboration and utilisation, and engagement with students.
BTH integrates the goals and actions of the climate strategy into the university's environmental and sustainability goals. To measure progress, indicators are used that reflect emissions in carbon dioxide equivalents.
Ongoing work within the Climate Framework
Since 2021, the work has been led by SUHF's expert group for collaboration, with the support of a network in which all higher education institutions that are members of SUHF participate.
The Swedish University for Agricultural Sciences, SLU, coordinates the network's activities through a host constellation.
