We do not consider a CV or a reference to LinkedIn or similar platforms to be proof of work experience.

Traineeship is not considered to be work experience.

The work certificate must:

  • State whether you worked full-time, part-time, or on an hourly basis. If you worked part-time or on an hourly basis, the extent of the employment must be specified, either as a percentage of full-time employment or as the number of hours worked.
  • Specify the period during which you were employed/or still are employed. A work contract is normally not the best way to proof your work experience as it only show the date of your employment. We do not assume that you are still employed if you submit a contract several years after you were employed.
  • State your job title and/or describe your work duties as we sometimes require that you have specific work experience such as programming.
  • Be issued, dated, and signed by the employer (administrative staff are acceptable signatories). We accept a digital signature. You cannot sign your own work certificate.
  • Include the employer's contact details ie. contact details to the person who has signed the certificate.

Self employed

Work in your own company is documented with a certificate from an entrepreneurs' association or auditor. The certificate must state the extent of the work. We must be able to see that you have the required time of work experience.

Certifying work experience to our master programmes

You always need to submit a work certificate for any work experience mentioned in the Course information form when applying to our master programmes.

For the master progammes that require work experience you can find a template on the website for the programme in question that you may use. It is not mandatory to use the template. Please see the entry requirement for each programme for information.

You must meet the entry requirement of work experience by the deadline to submit documents as specified at UniversityAdmissions.

If you have made your application on time, but submit documents that verifies your eligibility after the deadline as stated on UniversityAdmissions your application will be considered as made on the date that you submitted the last document that made you eligible to the course or programme.

This includes all documents that we need to ascertain if you meet the entry requirements this might include; previous university studies, English langauge and work certificates.

Paying the application fee after the deadline also makes your application considered as late.

If you submit documents late your application will only be considered if the course or programme is still open for late application. Should the course or programme not be open for late application, your application will be deleted.
