Admission to the course requires taken course Structural Analysis 7.5 credits.
The student acquires knowledge about and practices skills to apply semi-analytical and numerical methods for computational engineering analysis for decision support in product development. Tribology, thermal conduction and structural mechanics are primarily used as areas of application for the introduction of the current methods.
The student develops his/her ability to formulate theoretical models and derive relevant mathematical equations from these, as well as to solve them with appropriate methods.
The student will gain a deeper understanding of how existing computational software works and an insight into the possibilities and limitations of these. The student increases his/her ability to develop complementary software for his/her own applications.
The student increases his/her ability to search for scientific information and practices his/her ability to communicate scientific facts.
