Admission to the course requires completed Innovative and Sustainable Product Development 1. Further taken courses in basic Industrial Economics, 6 credits, Mathematical Statistics, 6 credits as well as Design Thinking, 6 credits.
The goal of this course is to give students an understanding of how the circular economy has come to influence traditional product development processes. The course presents methods and tools for planning, mapping, designing, assessing and evaluating alternative circular solution concepts in early design. The students will learn how to apply qualitative and quantitative methods to assess such strategies from a value and sustainability perspective.
