Admission requirements

Admission to the course requires completed course in programming equivalent to 12 credits and 1.5 completed credits in algorithms and datastructures.

The purpose of the course is to provide students with a good understanding of the operating system’s role as an interface between software and hardware. The course covers the functions of the operating system and resource allocation in different types of systems, such as traditional computers and mobile embedded systems. The course also provides students with knowledge of how software development is affected by the operating system and its performance.
