AGILE - Impact of Work Group Composition on Quality and Performance

Given the current complexity of software-intensive systems, added to the need for organizations to remain competitive, it is imperative that software teams adapt.

Aim of the project

The main research aim of this project, in collaboration with two industrial partners - Ericsson and Wireless Independent Provider, is to further improve team alignment in Agile Software Development by investigating how specific combinations of individuals' capabilities and personalities at team level can lead to specific compositions/adaptations of teams that improve software quality and team performance.

Implementation

The project involves building team fit models to identify which specific compositions of individuals' capabilities and personalities at the team level lead to higher software quality and team performance.

This project will also focus on defining metrics (e.g. software quality, team performance, team-level personality) and building and validating company-specific team alignment prediction models. All these are innovative aspects from a research point of view, which will also provide strong contributions to our industrial partners.
