Blekinge Technology Accelerator

With the project, the partners want to make a gathering of forces in Blekinge to help increase the business community's ability to economic renewal. The project is based on developing and establishing a technology accelerator that will facilitate students, researchers, entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, idea owners and companies with ideas for technology-based innovations to develop and verify technical so-called proof-of-concept or minimum viable prototypes (mvp's) in an accelerated process.

Purpose of the project

The project is based on one of Blekinge's areas of strength, digitization, which is identified as central to innovation initiatives in the regional development strategy. The county has cutting-edge expertise in digital technology, both in the business community and at Blekinge Institute of Technology.

Implementation

We want to gather that expertise in an environment where students, entrepreneurs, researchers, companies and public actors can turn to develop technical concepts into verified prototypes in a structured process. The prototypes that are deemed to have the greatest potential are offered space in Blekinge Business Incubator or picked up by existing companies.

At the end of the project, the following milestones will have been achieved:

  1. Technical specialist expertise will be linked to the accelerator environment.
  2. Companies and public actors will have enabled employees to spend time developing technical concepts in the technology accelerator.
  3. A methodology and coaching process to accelerate technical concepts into verified prototypes will have been developed
  4. Academic training programs shall be involved in the Technology Accelerator.
  5. Prototype development resources to drive research concepts to verified prototypes shall be attached to the Technology Accelerator.
