Continuous Everything – Cost-benefit evaluation of continuous software engineering

The project aims to explore continuous software delivery (CI/CD) from a cost-benefit perspective.

Aim of the project

This project aims to explore continuous software delivery (CI/CD) from the cost-benefit perspective. We aim to develop methods, tools and blueprints to support practitioners in planning, implementing and fine-tuning their software delivery processes.

Implementation

Software companies aim to gain competitive advantage by delivering new features to customers faster.

However, the potential benefits, investments in automation and organizational impact are poorly understood.

Our industry partners identify the uncertainty of costs and benefits as a barrier to adopting continuous software engineering practices which can potentially cause lost market opportunities, competitive advantages and wasted resources on failed implementation attempts.
