DemoCreate

DemoCreate is a cross-cutting, transformative innovation program for the creative sector. By unleashing and strengthening the democratic and innovative power of cultural and creative industries, the aim is to build a dynamic and inclusive society that safeguards the fundamental freedoms of all citizens.

Purpose of the project

DemoCreate preparatory project creates the conditions for a future strategic innovation program with long-term effects in all of Vinnova's identified challenge areas: Good and equal health, Attractive and well-functioning societies, and Production, consumption and value chains within the planetary boundaries.

By opening new interfaces within and to the creative sector to unlock potential systemic change and innovation power, the initiative departs from the established sectoral bias that has in practice already been broken by digitalization and market restructuring. The intention is to build a unifying arena for mission-driven research, collaboration and development at the interface of creativity, digitalization and democracy

Implementation

The new Knowledge and Innovation Group will engage with the sector's future entrepreneurs, drive its pioneering ventures and deliver innovative solutions to the challenges facing the industries. It will bridge regional innovation gaps and harness the power of these sectors, as key drivers of economic growth and job creation. The program will introduce systemic investments to (1) connect value chains across industries; (2) break down barriers to innovation across sectors and disciplines; and (3) equip the next generation of innovators with much-needed entrepreneurial skills.
