Efficient Innovation Capability

The project is part of Region Blekinge and BTH's marine technology initiative.

Innovation capability is at the core if an organization wants to be able to quickly adapt to new situations and continuously improve its operations. This project will support an organization's need to address upcoming challenges/problems (external and internal) and how to address these challenges by using a minimum of feasible prototypes (digital and physical) to explore solutions to problems.

The methodology will be supported by previously researched and developed methods and tools and will also provide new support to improve the effectiveness of the innovation capability.

The project will have a dual use perspective and applications where

  1. Existing production facilities can benefit from digital partnering (with sensors and connectivity) and new production technologies (additive manufacturing, new sustainable materials, etc.), while
  2. (Total) Defense applications in the defense sector will include early stage (digital) scenario planning, needs assessment, idea development and rapid conceptual evaluation of solutions.

The aim is to support organizational innovation and effectiveness through methods and tools to address and improve innovation capability and deploy it in an efficient way.

Expected outcome is a tailored approach to effective innovation supported by methods and tools for insertion into participating companies' processes, including demonstrators of the approach. Demonstrated capacity for effective innovation capability via demo applications with participating companies. Scientific publications and open seminars for knowledge transfer.
